Start a new event at Open Create Event and choose Start from scratch.
Enter the event name, description, date/time, and confirm the address.
In “Registration & Tickets” choose “Manage registration on Meet Near Me”.
Under “Tickets” add a ticket:
Click “Add another ticket or item”.
For “Pricing” choose “Free Ticket”.
Fill “Ticket name” and any capacity you want under “Inventory”.
Choose “Published” in “Publish Status”.
Click “Publish”.
If saving fails, read the message shown (see Important details and caveats) and follow the suggested remedy.
Note: “No registration needed” means people can RSVP or add the event to their calendar without answering registration questions or getting tickets. A “Free Ticket” uses Meet Near Me registration features and appears differently to attendees.
Send attendees to an external ticket or registration page
You must confirm an address in the “Location” section. The address determines the event’s local timezone.
If an event time or ticket time falls inside a blocked or ambiguous local clock window, the editor will show an error when you try to save. Fix it by choosing a different local date/time for the event or price tier.
Series events:
If you enable multi-event series, you must add at least one series date (child event) before publishing. The parent event’s start and end times are taken from the earliest and latest child dates.
Ticketing and registration rules:
“No registration needed” clears any Meet Near Me tickets or registration questions for the saved event.
If you choose “Manage registration on Meet Near Me”, you can add Free Tickets or paid items. A Free Ticket collects registrations without payment.
For paid tickets or merchandise you must set up a Stripe payment account. To start that setup go to Payment Account.
If you try to make a paid ticket without a connected Stripe account, the editor will show a message and give the option to go to Stripe setup or keep the ticket free.
Pricing and timed ticket tiers:
If you use timed price tiers, each cutover must be set so tiers do not overlap and the final tier ends at or before the event end time. The editor validates cutovers and will show specific messages if a cutover is missing, out of order, or after the event end.
All ticket times follow the event’s confirmed local time (the timezone from the confirmed address). If you change the address after setting times, re-check the start/end and price tier times.
Image limits and upload:
Featured images must be JPEG, PNG, or WebP and under 10MB. Larger images must be resized before upload.
Validation errors and remedies:
If the editor shows a validation message, follow the on-screen instruction. Common fixes:
“Event location is required” — confirm an address in “Location”.
“Choose a currency before saving” — pick a value in “Currency”.
Ticket errors like “Enter a price greater than 0” or “Enter a stock quantity of 0 or more” — correct the ticket’s price or capacity fields.
If registration questions failed to load, reload the page and try saving again.
If you see time-related messages, change the local date/time or adjust price-tier cutover times to valid values.
Ownership and sharing:
The event’s owner and shared calendars are shown in “Event Owner” and “Shared By”. You can add other calendars or submit the event to calendars using the provided search box. Some submissions require approval from the target calendar.
After first successful save:
A new event will show “Event updated successfully”, the editor stays open, and the URL will update to the saved event edit page with an Event Page link.
